Effect of Adapting to Human Preferences on Trust in Human-Robot Teaming [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We present the effect of adapting to human preferences on trust in a human-robot teaming task. The team performs a task in which the robot acts as an action recommender to the human. It is assumed that the behavior of the human and the robot is based on some reward function they try to optimize.

β-Herpesviruses in Febrile Children with Cancer

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2008
We conducted a cross-sectional study of β-herpesviruses in febrile pediatric oncology patients (n = 30), with a reference group of febrile pediatric solid-organ transplant recipients (n = 9).

Clinical Significance of Human Herpesvirus 6 Positivity on the FilmArray Meningitis/Encephalitis Panel

open access: yesClinical Infectious Diseases, 2018
A review of 15 patients who tested positive for human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) on the FilmArray Meningitis/Encephalitis panel revealed that the majority were unlikely to have HHV-6 encephalitis.

Human Trust-based Feedback Control: Dynamically varying automation transparency to optimize human-machine interactions [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Control Systems Magazine, vol. 40, no. 6, pp. 98-116, Dec. 2020, 2020
Human trust in automation plays an essential role in interactions between humans and automation. While a lack of trust can lead to a human's disuse of automation, over-trust can result in a human trusting a faulty autonomous system which could have negative consequences for the human.

CURRENT CONCEPT OF HUMAN HERPESVIRUS TYPE 6 INFECTION

open access: yesАрхивъ внутренней медицины, 2016
Human herpes virus type 6 infection is widely distributed. It is extensively studied recent years due to the imperfection of diagnostics, as well as participa- tion in the formation of chronic somatic pathology.

Human herpesvirus 6 and human herpesvirus 7 in chronic fatigue syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 1995
We analyzed lymphocytes of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) for the presence of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and HHV-7 DNA. HHV-7 was present in over 80% of CFS patients and healthy controls, while the prevalence of HHV-6 variant A increased significantly in CFS cases (22 versus 4%; P = 0.05).

Structure and Antigenicity of Kaposi's Sarcoma‐Associated Herpesvirus Glycoprotein B

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Kaposi's sarcoma‐associated herpesvirus (KSHV) causes severe cancers without effective treatments. This study presents an atomic model of KSHV's critical infection protein, gB, revealing a unique structure shared with related herpesviruses like Epstein‐Barr virus (EBV). The structural similarity highlights vulnerable targets for antibodies, guiding the

New research paradigms and agenda of human factors science in the intelligence era [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper proposes the innovative concept of "human factors science" to characterize engineering psychology, human factors engineering, human-computer interaction, and other similar fields. Although the perspectives in these fields differ, they share a common approach: "human-centered design." In the AI era, the human-machine relationship presents a ...

Game-Theoretic Modeling of Human Adaptation in Human-Robot Collaboration [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2017 ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI 2017), 2017
In human-robot teams, humans often start with an inaccurate model of the robot capabilities. As they interact with the robot, they infer the robot's capabilities and partially adapt to the robot, i.e., they might change their actions based on the observed outcomes and the robot's actions, without replicating the robot's policy.

Human herpesvirus 6 infection impairs Toll-like receptor signaling

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2010
Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) has a tropism for immunocompetent cells, including T lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells (DCs) suggesting that HHV-6 infection affects the immunosurveillance system. Toll-like receptor (TLR) system plays an
