Redox‐Active Frustrated Lewis Pair‐Mediated B─H Bond Activation: From Proton Transfer to THF Ring Opening

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Carbene‐stabilized dithiolene zwitterion, as a redox‐active frustrated Lewis pair, can mediate the B─H bond activation of catecholborane via hydride‐coupled reverse electron transfer processes. This discovery represents the first experimental evidence of the FLP‐mediated B─H activation via net proton transfer.

Advances in Parahydrogen‐Induced Polarization for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Peptides, Proteins, and Biopolymers

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Hyperpolarization by parahydrogen‐induced polarization enhances the sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of amino acids, peptides, mini‐proteins, and biopolymers using nonnatural amino acids with unsaturated side chains up to three orders of magnitude.

Gold(I)‐Catalyzed Domino Cyclization for the Construction of Trispirocyclic Cyclohexanes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
We describe herein a series of intricate trispirocyclic architectures that have been synthesized from readily available substrates through an operationally simple one‐pot transformation under mild conditions. An unprecedented gold(I)‐catalyzed domino cyclization involving 2‐ethynylbenzyl alcohol derivatives and heterocyclic α,β‐unsaturated imines ...

Intramolecular N···F Pnictogen Bond Mitigates the Explosive Behavior of Azido‐L‐Phenylalanines

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
An intramolecular N···F pnictogen bond is the key for the chemical stabilization of the fluorinated azido‐L‐phenylalanines, mitigating the risk of explosion and thus facilitating the handling and storage of these materials. Organic azides are versatile intermediates but are plagued by intrinsic instability and potential explosiveness. Here, it is shown
