Responses of Heterodera glycines and Meloidogyne incognita Infective Juveniles to Root Tissues, Root Exudates, and Root Extracts from Three Plant Species.

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2018
The infective juvenile (J2) stage of endoparasitic plant nematodes uses plant chemical signals, released from roots, to localize and infect hosts.

Two-Dimensional Protein Patterns in Heterodera glycines.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic protein patterns of H. glycines from southern Indiana (Posey County) and northern Indiana (Pulaski County) were largely similar, but many differences existed. The pattern of the Posey isolate was similar to patterns from isolates collected in other areas of the United States. Unique dense protein spots

Managing Soybean Resistance to Heterodera glycines.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Heterodera glycines is an economically important pest of soybean in the United States. The steps necessary to manage this nematode are to sample for inoculum density, identify the race present, and then select appropriate control measures. Planting resistant cultivars is the most widely used management practice, and this tactic has provided enormous ...

Unique Immunogenic Proteins in Heterodera glycines Eggshells.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Polyclonal antibodies were raised against Heterodera glycines eggshells to determine the feasibility of developing an immunoassay for H. glycines eggs. An indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed from anfisera collected 10 weeks after the initial injection.

Distribution of Heterodera glycines Races in Illinois.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Because the race scheme for Heterodera glycines was expanded recently from 5 to 16 races, the occurrence and distribution of races in Illinois need clarification. Forty-four populations of H. glycines were collected from sites in 23 of the 88 infested counties.
