Reallocation Gains in a Specific Factors Model with Firm Heterogeneity [PDF]

open access: possible, 2011
We study firm heterogeneity in a specific factors model to address the effect of factor mobility on reallocation gains from trade. A model is proposed with Melitz-type firm heterogeneity with two sectors, two countries and two fixed factors and one factor mobile across sectors.

PRIVATE AND SOCIAL GAINS IN DELEGATION AND SEQUENTIAL GAMES WITH HETEROGENEOUS FIRMS*

The Manchester School, 2012
We investigate both quantity and price competition in two differentiated oligopolistic frameworks in which firms are heterogeneous with respect to the ownership structure, i.e. managerial firms compete against entrepreneurial firms, or to the timing decisions, i.e. leaders compete against followers.

New heterogeneous superstrate high gain antenna

2015
This article presents a new way to enhance antenna gain using different dielectric superstrate configurations. The innovative assembly of superstrates permits also to the half-power beamwidth (HPBW) to be maintained with gain improvement. The chosen antenna is a printed square patch radiating at 5.1 GHz.

Redistribution of Trade Gains in the Presence of Firm and Worker Heterogeneity

The World Economy, 2015
AbstractTrade gains are unequally distributed; in particular, low‐ability workers lose out in terms of wages and employment probability. In this paper, we investigate the impact of redistribution schemes on aggregate and disaggregate variables. To this end, we built a trade model with trade unions, heterogeneous firms and workers.

The poor gain from Statistical Multiplexing in the homogeneous and the heterogeneous case

1994
Abstract The success of using Statistical Multiplexing for traffic admission control to an ATM-link strongly depends on the source characteristics. In this paper the direct relation between the statistical multiplexing gain and the source parameter values is shown for the homogeneous case: multiplexing sources with the same traffic characteristics ...
