Joint admission control algorithm based on load transfer in heterogeneous networks

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2018
A load-transfer-based joint admission control (LJAC) algorithm in heterogeneous networks was proposed. The access requirements of users were admitted based on load balancing, the dynamic load transfer of traffics in the overlapping coverage areas of ...

Intelligent User-Centric Network Selection: A Model-Driven Reinforcement Learning Framework

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Ultra-dense heterogeneous networks, as a novel network architecture in the fifth-generation mobile communication system (5G), promise ubiquitous connectivity and smooth experience, which take advantage of multiple radio access technologies (RATs), such ...

Percolation transition and distribution of connected components in generalized random network ensembles

open access: yes, 2009
In this work, we study the percolation transition and large deviation properties of generalized canonical network ensembles. This new type of random networks might have a very rich complex structure, including high heterogeneous degree sequences, non ...

Generalized voter-like models on heterogeneous networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We describe a generalization of the voter model on complex networks that encompasses different sources of degree-related heterogeneity and that is amenable to direct analytical solution by applying the standard methods of heterogeneous mean-field theory.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Towards the analysis of the performance measures of heterogeneous networks by means of two-phase queuing systems

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Models and Applied Computational Science, 2021
Due to a multistage nature of transmission processes in heterogeneous 4G, 5G mobile networks, multiphase queuing systems become one of the most suitable ways for the resource allocation algorithms analysis and network investigation.

Effects of diffusion rates on epidemic spreads in metapopulation networks

open access: yes, 2010
It is often useful to represent the infectious dynamics of mobile agents by metapopulation models. In such a model, metapopulations form a static network, and individuals migrate from one metapopulation to another.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...
