An Optimized Heterogeneous Structure LSTM Network for Electricity Price Forecasting

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Electricity price is an important indicator of the market operation. Accurate prediction of electricity price will facilitate the maximization of economic benefits and reduction of risks to the power market.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Enhancing strength and ductility synergy through heterogeneous structure design in nanoscale Al2O3 particulate reinforced Al composites

open access: yesMaterials & Design (1980-2015), 2019
Nanoparticle reinforced aluminum matrix composites fabricated by a high energy ball milling method showed significantly improved strength, however, their ductility was relative lower.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Research progress in wire arc additive manufacturing of NiTi shape memory alloys

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
NiTi shape memory alloys (SMAs) have found widespread applications due to their unique superelasticity and shape memory effects. However, traditional manufacturing methods face challenges in fabricating complex geometries and precisely controlling the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Utilizing atomic-scale grain boundary segregation: a new way for constructing the lamellar heterogeneous magnesium alloy

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
Heterogeneous structure significantly impacts the applications of wrought magnesium (Mg) alloys. Herein, we put forward a novel idea for constructing the heterogeneous structure by utilizing solute grain boundary (GB) segregation on recrystallization ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
