Redefining the Nitrogen Cycle Through Electronic Configuration Driven Electrocatalysis for Low Carbon Energy

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This review reveals how electronic configuration engineering governs the entire electrocatalytic nitrogen cycle, providing structure‐informed insights into reaction selectivity, catalytic durability, and sustainable nitrogen utilization across energy and environmental systems. ABSTRACT The global nitrogen cycle is essential to food production, chemical

Formic‐Acid In Situ Hydrogen Enables Programmable Ru–Pd–Pt/C Trimetallic Interfaces for Durable Acidic HER

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Bamboo diaphragm−derived carbon is used as a support to prepare Ru–Pd–Pt/C catalysts through a stepwise reduction strategy. The Ru–Pd interface promotes formic acid activation and induces Pt deposition. The metallic interface of Ru–Pd–Pt/C enables H* generation, transfer, and recombination, thereby improving Pt utilization, acidic HER activity, and PEM

Stabilizing a metalloid {Zn12} unit within a polymetallide environment in [K2Zn20Bi16]6−

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Low-valent zinc clusters, though exceedingly rare, are appealing synthetic targets because there is evidence that they may show unconventional chemical and physical behavior.

Heterovalent, Homometallic Rings: Synthesis, Optical, and EPR Studies of {TiIV7TiIII} Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A new class of heterovalent, homometallic complexes is reported, based on cyclic {TiIV7TiIII} cores with oxide and carboxylate bridges between nearest neighbors. The clusters show Class II mixed‐valent behavior at room temperature, but are valence localized at low temperature.

A Cyclic {NiII8DyIII4} Cluster Where the DyIII Moments Are Organized by the Transition Metal Spins

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The synthesis, structural characterisation, and magnetic properties of a cyclic Ni8Dy4 coordination cluster are reported. Ab initio CASSCF and DFT calculations help rationalize the shape of the microSQUID hysteresis and the competing magnetic interactions within the compound. ABSTRACT A series of [Ni8Ln4(CO3)4(L)8(NO3)2(H2O)8 (MeOH)4](NO3)2 (Ln = Dy (1)

Proton NMR Study of Cr−Co Heterometallic Wheel Complexes

open access: yes, 2016
1H NMR spectra of the paramagnetic heterometallic complexes of general formula [cation][Cr7CoF8(O2CtBu)16] have been recorded. The NMR spectra have allowed the investigation of the structure of these complexes in solution. These experiments show that the

Sandwich d/f Heterometallic Complexes [(Ln(hfac)3)2M(acac)3] (Ln = La, Pr, Sm, Dy and M = Co; Ln = La and M = Ru)

open access: yesMolecules
Sandwich d/f heterometallic complexes [(Ln(hfac)3)2M(acac)3] (Ln = La, Pr, Sm, Dy and M = Co; Ln = La and M = Ru) were prepared in strictly anhydrous conditions reacting the formally unsaturated fragment [Ln(hfac)3] and [M(acac)3] in a 2-to-1 molar ratio.

Scaling Up Molecular Electron Spin Qubits Around a Core‐Shell Quantum Dot

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Making assemblies of molecular nanomagnet (MNM) qubits is an essential step toward scalable quantum devices. Here, SH‐functionalized {Cr7Ni} antiferromagnetic rings with ability as MNM qubits were successfully grafted to the surface of fluorescent CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QD).

Host–guest capability of a three-dimensional heterometallic macrocycle

open access: yes, 2018
Three-dimensional heterometallic macrocycles with half-sandwich Rh corners were studied for their ability to trap planar and non-planar guests. Furthermore, these heterometallic macrocycles can be destroyed in the presence of a soft base to form ...

Large Magnetocaloric Effect in a Ferromagnetically Coupled [Mn3Gd] Complex With a Spin Ground State of S = 11

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Systematic studies of a series of new 3d–4f tetranuclear complexes revealed that the ferromagnetically coupled [Mn3Gd] complex exhibits large magnetic entropy changes, especially at higher temperatures and under lower magnetic fields. ABSTRACT A series of 3d‐4f heterometallic tetranuclear complexes, (TEA)[Mn3Gd(L)3(NO3)4(CH3CN)2] ([Mn3Gd]), (TEA)[Mn3La(
