Understanding the impact of acetamiprid-based insecticides on the biological fitness of entomopathogenic nematodes: implications for biological control

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus
The impact of acetamiprid-based insecticides on the survival and activity of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) was evaluated in laboratory, focusing on two species, Steinernema feltiae and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora. Despite variations in sensitivity,

Heterorhabditis sp. (Nematoda: Heterorhabditidae): A Nematode Parasite Isolated from the Banded Cucumber Beetle Diabrotica balteata.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
A nematode identified as Heterorhabditis sp. was discovered in June 1982 in larval cadavers of the banded cucumber beetle, Diabrotica balteata, in soil on wooded land. Effective beetle control (over 95%) was obtained when larvae were exposed to potted soil containing infective stage nematode juveniles or infected larval cadavers.

SUSCEPTIBILITY OF SPODOPTERA LITTORALIS (BOISD.) TO TREATED ENTOMOPATHOGENIC RHABDITIES, HETERORHABDITIS BACTERIOPHORA AND STEINERNEMA SP. BY DIFFERENT PESTICIDES

open access: yesJournal of Biopesticides, 2013
ABSTRACT Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) is a major plant pest that causes substantial economic losses worldwide especially in vegetable crops. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) in the families Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae are generally considered beneficial organisms which can serve within integrated pest management (IPM) in agroecosystem ...
