Protective immunity against HEV

Current Opinion in Virology, 2014
Rural community of Dongtai City in eastern China is endemic for hepatitis E virus (HEV), with the zoonotic genotype 4 virus predominating. The virus appears to be widely distributed in environment at generally low levels, such that infection is common, but >97% of which are asymptomatic and provoke a modest antibody response.

HEV Cell Culture

2016
Cell culture is an important research method in virology. Although many attempts have been conducted to culture HEV in cells, only a few cell culture systems were considered to be efficient enough for usage. Concentration of virus stocks, host cells, and medium components affects the culture efficiency and the genetic mutations during HEV passage were ...

HEV and transfusion-recipient risk

Transfusion Clinique et Biologique, 2017
HEV infections are mainly food- and water-borne but transfusion-transmission has occurred in both developing and developed countries. The infection is usually asymptomatic but it can lead to fulminant hepatitis in patients with underlying liver disease and pregnant women living in developing countries.

HEV systems

2001
Abstract When incorporating both of the ICE and electric motor, the vehicle is usually known as the hybrid EV (HEV). This HEV is actually not a new idea. A patent by Pieper in 1905 delineated that a battery-powered electric motor was used to boost the acceleration of an ICEV (Wouk, 1995; Bates, 1995). What exactly is a HEV?

GA-Based Fuzzy Energy Management System for FC/SC-Powered HEV Considering H2 Consumption and Load Variation

IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems, 2018
The combination of the fuel cell (FC) and supercapacitor for a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) has the benefit of compensating for the slow dynamic response and avoiding reactant starvation of FC.

Mix‐breeding with HEV‐infected swine induced inapparent HEV infection in SPF rabbits

Journal of Medical Virology, 2015
Studies have shown that swine HEV (sHEV) and rabbit HEV (rHEV) can experimentally infect rabbits and swine, respectively. However, no published data have documented isolating sHEV strains from rabbits in natural environment so far. To clarify the possibility of natural cross‐species transmission of sHEV to rabbits, the pigs with HEV infection were ...

Characteristics and Functions of HEV Proteins

2016
Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a non-enveloped virus containing a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA genome of 7.2 kb, which consists of a 5' non-coding region, three open reading frames (ORFs), and a 3' non-coding region. ORF1 is diverse between genotypes and encodes the nonstructural proteins, which include the enzymes needed for virus replication.

Hev b 1, Hev b 2 and Hev b 3 content in natural rubber latex and latex gloves

2001
Contact with latex gloves or powder from the gloves can induce an allergic reaction in sensitized persons. Although eleven latex allergens (Hev b 1 to Hev b 11) have been identified, there have been few reports on the levels of the specific allergens present in latex gloves.

Toyota Prius HEV neurocontrol

2007 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, 2007
The author propose a neural network controller for improved fuel efficiency of the Toyota Prius hybrid electric vehicle. The approach is based on recurrent neural networks and an effective combination of off-line and on-line training methods including the extended Kalman filter and the simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA).
