An extreme non‐equilibrium process combining heavy direct current sintering and TiSi2 addition is used to construct intragranular energy dissipation units within high‐entropy boride ceramics to overcome the strength‐toughness trade‐off. The resulting ceramic demonstrates attractive mechanical properties with a flexural strength of 887 MPa and a ...

Spark plasma sintering of cBN(core)/SiO2(shell) powder prepared by rotary chemical vapor deposition
SiO2 nanolayer coated cubic boron nitride (cBN), cBN(core)/SiO2(shell) powder, was prepared by rotary chemical vapor deposition. The cBN/SiO2 powder was densified by spark plasma sintering at 1873 K for 0.3 ks. The hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) phase was

Layer‐Dependent Phonon Polaritons in hBN Resolved by Photo‐Induced Force Spectroscopy
Layer‐dependent phonon polariton resonances in hexagonal boron nitride are systematically investigated using photo‐induced force microscopy. The in‐plane resonance exhibits a blueshift, while the out‐of‐plane resonance shows a redshift with increasing thickness. These results establish layer number as a key parameter for tuning polaritonic responses in

ABSTRACT To confront extreme space environments, a combination of inorganic and organic coatings can provide a pathway for offering highly durable radiation resistance and anti‐friction simultaneously. Herein, a strong interfacial 3D hydrogen‐bonding network is designed to create robust hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) based polymer coatings with ...

ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...

Liquid metal catalysts are widely assumed to promote high‐quality 2D growth. In this work, operando experiments and machine‐learning‐accelerated simulations show that hBN on Cu breaks this graphene‐derived expectation, where molten Cu promotes multilayer/3D growth, but re‐solidified single‐crystal Cu stabilizes monolayer formation.

Raman Evidence of Moiré Diamondene Formation by High‐Pressure
Two‐dimensional moiré diamondene is formed at approximately 2 GPa through the synergy of high pressure, interlayer twist, and a chemically active diamond (100) surface. It is a hybrid sp2–sp3 nanostructure, consists of localized nanodiamond domains and unbonded graphene segments.
