Hexane Air Combustion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Hot surface ignition and subsequent flame propagation of premixed n-hexane air mixtures are shown in this fluid dynamics video. High speed schlieren photography revealed 3 distinct behaviors of ignition and propagation as a function of mixture composition and initial pressure.

Experimental study on the evaporating progress of hexane lens on immiscible liquid:Spreading and receding [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
The change of evaporation liquid on another immiscible liquid has important guiding significance for many applications. In this experiment, the geometric temperature distribution and evaporation rate of n-hexane droplets were observed and recorded by ...

Enthalpic and Liquid-Phase Adsorption Study of Toluene–Cyclohexane and Toluene–Hexane Binary Systems on Modified Activated Carbons

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The liquid-phase adsorption of toluene in cyclohexane and hexane solutions on modified activated carbons was evaluated; the energy involved in the interaction between these solutions and the solids was determined by immersion enthalpies of pure solvents ...

Hydrocarbon Contamination in Angstrom-scale Channels [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale, 2021,13, 9553-9560, 2021
Nonspecific molecular adsorption like airborne contamination occurs on most surfaces including those of 2D materials and alters their properties. While the surface contamination is studied using a plethora of techniques, the effect of contamination on a confined system such as nanochannels, nanopores leading to their clogging is still lacking.

Higher Yield and Polyphenol Content in Olive Pomace Extracts Using 2-Methyloxolane as Bio-Based Solvent

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Despite its severe toxicity and negative environmental impact, hexane remain the solvent of choice for the extraction of vegetable oils. This is in contrast with the constantly growing demand for sustainable and green extraction processes.

Hexane-1,6-diammonium dinitrate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2009
The hexane-1,6-diammonium cation of the title compound, C(6)H(18)N(2) (2+)·2NO(3) (-), lies across a crystallographic inversion centre and shows significant deviation from planarity in the hydro-carbon chain. This is evident from the torsion angle of -64.0°(2) along the N-C-C-C bond and thse torsion angle of -67.1°(2) along the C-C-C-C bonds.

Photooxidation of n-Hexanal in Air [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2001
Dilute mixtures of hexanal in synthetic air (up to 100 ppm) were photolyzed with fluorescent UV lamps (275-380 nm) in air at 298 K. The main photooxidation products, identified and quantitatively analyzed by FTIR spectroscopy, were butene, CO, vinylalcohol and ethanal.

Hydropyrolysis of n-Hexane and Toluene to Acetylene in Rotating-Arc Plasma

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Thermal plasma pyrolysis is a powerful technology for converting waste or low-value materials to valuable gaseous hydrocarbons. This paper presents for the first time the hydropyrolysis of n-hexane and toluene in a rotating-arc plasma reactor. Effects of
