Science, 1983Enantiomerically pure polyhydroxylated natural products are synthesized by using a reiterative two-carbon extension cycle consisting of four steps. The generality and efficiency of this methodology are demonstrated in the total synthesis of all eight L-hexoses.

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1954Abstract A new method based on the anthrone reaction is proposed for the quantitative determination of hexose diphosphate in order to eliminate the uncertain fructose equivalent. The method can he used for determination of hexose diphosphate of 5–400 μg. with an experimental error for a duplicate determination of 2.4%.
