Advances in the Study of Endometrial Receptivity and Glucose Metabolism Mechanisms in Insulin Resistance

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
This article systematically reviews how insulin resistance (IR) disrupts endometrial receptivity by interfering with glucose metabolism mechanisms, ultimately leading to infertility in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). ABSTRACT Introduction Insulin resistance (IR) is one of the important pathologic bases of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Phaseolus vulgaris STP13.1 is an H+‐coupled monosaccharide transporter, present in source leaves and seed coats, with higher substrate affinity at depolarized potentials

open access: yesPlant Direct
Sugar transport proteins (STPs) are high‐affinity H+‐coupled hexose symporters. Recently, the contribution of STP13 to bacterial and fungal pathogen resistance across multiple plant species has garnered significant interest.

Optimizing Extraction and HPLC‐ESI‐QTOF‐MS/MS Analysis of Bound Phenolics From Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) and Their Biological Activity

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Extraction and characterization of okra bound phenolics. The extraction of bound phenolics from okra pulp (OPBP) and seeds (OSBP) was optimized, achieving maximum yields of 7.77 and 83.03 mg GAE/g DW, respectively. Using HPLC‐ESI‐QTOF‐MS/MS, multiple phenolic compounds were identified, with nine being reported in okra for the first time.

L-Valine assisted distinction between the stereo-isomers of D-hexoses by positive ion ESI tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yes, 2010
The binary mixtures of 7 hexoses and 20 amino acids were investigated by electrospray ionization ion trap mass spectrometry (ESI-ITMS). The adduct ions of the amino acid and the hexose were detected for 12 amino acids but not for the other 8 amino acids ...

Targeted metabolomics reveals the optimal harvest time of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in an emerging high‐altitude tropical region

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 9, Page 5614-5628, July 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Climate change has driven the expansion of viticulture in high‐altitude tropical regions. The dynamics of grape ripening and its metabolic profile are influenced by climatic conditions. This study aimed to identify the optimal harvest period for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes cultivated in an emerging Brazilian high‐altitude region using

Discovery and Biosynthesis of the Novel Glycotetrapeptide Antibiotic Biffamycin A

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 26, 22 June 2026.
Genetic de‐regulation of a silent biosynthetic pathway allowed isolation and characterisation of a novel glycopeptide antibiotic named biffamycin A, which harbours unprecedented 5‐chloro‐4‐methoxy tryptophan and 3R‐hydroxy(α‐D‐mannoysl)‐D‐lysine moieties and is bioactive against MRSA and VRSA.

Influence of Two Hexose Transporters on Substrate Affinity and Pathogenicity in Magnaporthe oryzae

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Hexose transporters (HXT) play a crucial role in the pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae, serving not only as key facilitators for acquiring and transporting sugar nutrients to support pathogen development, but also as sugar sensors which receive ...

Advancements in Mass Spectrometry‐Based Glycomics in Food and Nutritional Science

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 45, Issue 4, Page 829-850, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT This review highlights advancements in mass spectrometry (MS)‐based glycomics in food and nutritional science. Carbohydrates, which are vital for human health, exhibit complex structures, making their analysis challenging. MS has become an indispensable tool for elucidating the structures of carbohydrates, including glycans, through soft ...
