Blue-violet HgI/HgI2laser with wide-band optical pumping by a linearly stabilized surface discharge

Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1986
A description is given of the first photodissociation laser utilizing the B–X electronic transition in mercury iodide (λ = 442, 443, 444 nm) with wide-band optical pumping of HgI2 vapor by thermal radiation from a plasma. The pump source was a linearly stabilized surface discharge with a brightness temperature Tb ≈ 25kK in the ultraviolet part of the ...

The Optical Spectrum of HgI2

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1972
The optical spectra of tetragonal HgI 2 single crystals were investigated at 4.2 K and 79 K in 2∼6 eV region of photon energy. The main part of the dichroic optical spectra is well described by the optical transition from three p -like valence bands, which are split due to spin orbit interaction and crystal field perturbation, to an s -like conduction ...

Excimer HgI* laser excited by an electric discharge

Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1980
A description is given of an HgI( laser pumped by a transverse electric discharge with additional photoionization. Lasing was observed at wavelengths of 441.4, 443, 444, and 445 nm. The energy per pulse reached 3 mJ. The time dependences of the laser radiation intensity, discharge current, and voltage across the electrodes were determined. The positive

180-LB: Standardizing the Hemoglobin Glycation Index (HGI)

Diabetes, 2020
HGI measures how far a person’s HbA1c lies above or below average compared to other people with similar blood glucose concentrations. Multiple studies confirm that high HGI is associated with greater risk for iatrogenic hypoglycemia in diabetes patients and chronic vascular disease in diabetic and nondiabetic populations.

The Yellow Polymorphs of Mercuric Iodide (HgI2)

Helvetica Chimica Acta, 2003
AbstractHgI2 crystallizes under ambient conditions from various solvents and by sublimation into three concomitant polymorphs whose colors are red, orange, and yellow. The orange and yellow phases are metastable and transform into the red phase when touched. A phase transition from red to yellow occurs at 400 K.

Thermal expansion of α-HgI2

Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1982
Lattice-constant thermal expansions, Δa/a and Δc/c, have been measured on α-HgI2 single crystals from 293 K up to the red-to-yellow transition temperature. The curves Δa/a(T) and Δc/c(T) are linear. The thermal expansion coefficients are determined: α[100] = (1.0 ± 0.1) × 10−5  K−1 and α[001] = (4.6 ± 0.1) × 10−5 K−1.

HgI(B2Σ+1/2) formation by electron impact dissociative excitation of HgI2molecules: applications to the HgI laser

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1990
Electron impact dissociative excitation of HgI2 molecules producing the B2 Sigma +1/2 state of HgI has been studied in the case of low energy electrons. Using the most intense band of the (B2 Sigma +1/2-X2 Sigma +1/2) system of the HgI radical at 444 nm, emission cross sections have been measured in the electron energy range 1-100 eV.

Phonon Dispersion in Red HgI2

physica status solidi (b), 1978
AbstractPhonon dispersion curves of red HgI2 are measured by inelastic neutron scattering up to a frequency of 1.5 THz for waves propagating in the [100] and [001] symmetry directions. Indications of a two‐dimensional character are found through a slight anisotropy in the sound velocities and through the comparison between inter‐ and intralayer ...

Microwave conductivity near order-disorder phase transition: A comparison between Ag 2 HgI 4 and Cu 2 HgI 4

Solid State Ionics, 1981
Abstract The cation order-disorder phase transition of Ag2HgI4 and Cu2HgI4 involves a major change only in the cation sublattice and is accompanied by a jump in the dc conductivity. Critical dynamics of this phase transition have been studied by microwave conductivity measurement.

The Phase‐Diagram CuI — HgI2

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1989
AbstractCalorimetric measurements have been performed on mixed crystals of couprous and mercury iodide at a wide range of compositions. From these investigations specific heats, transition enthalpies and finally the phase diagram CuI — HgI2were derived. The separating lines of different phase regions were calculated from enthalpies of transition versus
