Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Jatropha curcas (J. curcas) Under Subcritical Water Conditions: Water and Palm Oil Mill Effluent as Solvents

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2025.
J. curcas was hydrothermally liquefied (HTL) using water and palm oil mill effluent (POME) as a hydrogen donor solvent. Palmitic and oleic acids were detected by the POME analysis utilizing GC–MS by manipulating three parameters (temperature, reaction time, and biomass‐to‐solvent ratio).

HHV-8 encoded LANA-1 alters the higher organization of the cell nucleus

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2007
The latency-associated nuclear antigen (LANA-1) of Human Herpes Virus 8 (HHV-8), alternatively called Kaposi Sarcoma Herpes Virus (KSHV) is constitutively expressed in all HHV-8 infected cells.

Seroprevalence and detection of Human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) among healthy blood donors residing in Qatar

open access: yesJournal of Infection and Public Health
Background: Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) is a critical causative agent behind Kaposi sarcoma (KS), an oncogenic disease with profound consequences in immunocompromised individuals. Studies suggested HHV-8 seroprevalence in healthy populations is uncommon,

Incidence of Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) infection among HIV-uninfected individuals at high risk for sexually transmitted infections

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2007
BackgroundThe occurrence of, and risk factors for, HHV-8 infection have yet to be definitively determined, particularly among heterosexual individuals with at-risk behavior for sexually transmitted infections (STI).
