Endothelial Atypical Receptors for Chemoattractants in Lung Immune Surveillance
Control of chemokine gradients within tissues is achieved by atypical chemokine receptors (ACKRs). The lungs require tightly regulated leukocyte recruitment for effective host defense while preventing tissue damage. In this context, ACKRs expressed by lung endothelial cells are emerging as critical regulators of leukocyte trafficking and inflammatory ...

ABSTRACT The infection theory of dementia states that viral infections and chronic inflammation play a role in its pathogenesis. We aimed to test whether testing positive for inherited chromosomally‐integrated human herpesvirus 6 (iciHHV‐6) is associated with an increased dementia incidence, inflammation, and other dementia risk factors. We included n =

An efficient and solvent‐free sustainable one‐pot protocol is developed for the synthesis of broad range of dibenzoxanthenes using 5 mol% Bronsted acidic ionic liquid [VSBIM][Cl]. The versatility of the methodology was demonstrated by the effective synthesis of 19 dibenzoxanthene derivatives up to 90%–95% yields.

Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), the etiological agent of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), is endemic in parts of the sub-Saharan, and KS has increased concomitantly with the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In Mozambique (MZ), no data concerning HHV-8 infection was available, thus

Chemokines in Alzheimer's Disease: Early Defence, Late Damage and the Impact of Sex and Infection
ABSTRACT Chemokines constitute a versatile signalling network maintaining homeostasis and glia–neuron communication in the healthy brain but become progressively dysregulated during aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD). This review examines how chemokine systems transition from tightly regulated homeostatic signals to drivers of chronic neuroinflammation

ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is common in bipolar disorder (BD), but the underlying pathophysiology remains unclear. This systematic review aimed to (1) summarize all literature describing relationships of biofluid biomarkers and cognition in BD and (2) identify which biofluid biomarkers correlate most consistently with cognition in BD ...

Serological study of the frequency of human herpesvirus-8 in patients with liver cirrhosis [PDF]
Introduction: Various factors, including viruses, are involved in developing liver cirrhosis. Although the association of human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) with liver cirrhosis remains poorly understood, a significant increase in the titer of antibodies ...

Acute Myocarditis: From Pathophysiology to Risk‐Stratified Management—A Clinical Review
Stepwise approach to patients with suspected acute myocarditis, integrating the 2024 American College of Cardiology (ACC) four‐stage classification (Stages A–D) and the 2025 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) inflammatory myopericardial syndrome (IMPS) framework. Step 1 (Initial Assessment): clinical presentation, first‐line investigations (ECG, high‐

Catalytic Hydropyrolysis of Beetle Killed Trees for the Production of Transportation Biofuels
Catalytic hydropyrolysis of beetle‐killed pine, ash, and redbay demonstrated that temperature, catalyst loading, and catalyst acidity strongly influence hydrocarbon yields, while response surface methodology (RSM) identified optimal operating conditions for maximizing overall product yield.
