Hierarchical fuzzy logic traffic control at a road junction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Summary: In this article a hierarchical fuzzy logic controller is proposed to tackle the traffic control problem at a two-way road junction with turning traffic. The two levels of fuzzy logic controllers devise the minimum effective green-time and fine-tune it, respectively, at each phase of a traffic-light cycle.

A FUZZY LOGIC APPROACH FOR DRONE CAPABILITY ANALYSIS ON DISASTER RISK ASSESSMENT [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
The paper proposes a fuzzy logic approach for drone capability analysis on disaster risk assessment. In particular, a fuzzy logic model is designed as a hierarchical system with several inputs and one output.

Fuzzy Logic Aided Dynamic Source Routing in Cross-Layer Operation Assisted Ad Hoc Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The classic Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol opts for the route requiring the lowest number of hops for transmitting data from the source to the destination.

Neutrosophic Fuzzy Hierarchical Clustering for Dengue Analysis in Sri Lanka [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems, 2020
In the structure of nature, we believe that there is an underlying knowledge in all the phenomena we wish to understand. Mainly in the area of epidemiology we often tend to seek the structure of the data obtained, pattern of the disease, nature or ...

Fuzzy Logic Networks for Speech Recognition

open access: yesCommunications, 2013
This paper proposes a massive fuzzy logic network which can be considered as a novel model of pattern classification network. Our approach introduces fuzzy logic circuits fulfilling the function of a binary classifier at first, which are connected into ...

A Fuzzy Systematic Approach to Construction Risk Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Risk Analysis and Crisis Response (JRACR), 2012
This article emphasizes the need for a fuzzy systematic structural approach to the risk assessment of construction projects and introduces the processes required to form a hierarchical systematic structure based on fuzzy logic using the Fuzzy Decision ...

A Fuzzy Hierarchical Strategy for Improving Frequency Regulation of Battery Energy Storage System

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2021
Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) can provide instantaneous support for frequency regulation (FR) because of their fast response characteristics. However, purely pursuing a better FR effect calls for continually rapid cycles of BESSs, which shortens

Zero overshoot and fast transient response using a fuzzy logic controller [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In some industrial process control systems it is desirable not to allow an overshoot beyond the setpoint or a threshold, this could be a safety constraint or the requirement of the system.
