TYPE-4 FUZZY LOGIC SYSTEMS FOR HIERARCHICAL UNCERTAINTY: THEORY, ALGORITHMS, AND APPLICATIONS IN DECISION SUPPORT

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics
Higher-order fuzzy systems such as Type-2 and Type-3 models enhance robustness by representing uncertainty at multiple levels, yet they remain limited when uncertainty extends to the distribution of meta-membership functions themselves. This paper proposes a Type-4 Fuzzy Logic System (T4-FLS) as a generalized framework for hierarchical uncertainty ...

Does Context Really Matter for Environmental Policy Implementation? A Systematic Comparison of Implementation Determinants

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental policy addresses wicked problems such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution—issues marked by complexity, conflicting objectives, and stakeholder resistance. After often‐contested policy formulation, implementers face intense pressure to deliver results.

Environmental Statecraft, Fragmented Authoritarianism, and Technocratic Governance: The Structure and Agency of China's Local Environmental Politics

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Local environmental politics in China is often said to be dominated by state‐controlled modes of multi‐level governance. However, top‐down governance is embedded within and transformed by local politics, adding complexity to governance practices and environmental outcomes.

Optimal Lithium‐Ion Battery—Supercapacitor Energy Storage System Capacity for Off‐Grid Intermittent Renewable Energy Mini‐Grids

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Deployment of an aging‐based controller during designing of optimal lithium‐ion battery—supercapacitor (LB‐Sc) hybrid energy storage system (HESS) capacity, in off‐grid IREMGs, improves performance of the LB and reduces its aging rate. Also, annualised cost of the LB‐Sc HESS improves by 33.15% in relation to optimal LB SESS.
