Application of Hierarchical Spatial Autoregressive Models to Develop Land Value Maps in Urbanized Areas

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
This article aims at testing the possibilities of applying hierarchical spatial autoregressive models to create land value maps in urbanized areas. The use of HSAR (Hierarchical Spatial Autoregressive) models for spatial differentiation of prices in the ...

Heterogeneity Impacts of Farmers’ Participation in Payment for Ecosystem Services Based on the Collective Action Framework

open access: yesLand, 2022
Payments for ecosystem services (PES) are designed to reduce the impact of human activities on eco-sensitive areas. PES programs often adopt economic-incentive and command-control strategies. Increasing the enthusiasm of farmers’ participation is crucial

HLMdiag: A Suite of Diagnostics for Hierarchical Linear Models in R

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2014
Over the last twenty years there have been numerous developments in diagnostic pro- cedures for hierarchical linear models; however, these procedures are not widely imple- mented in statistical software packages, and those packages that do contain a ...

Posterior propriety of an objective prior for generalized hierarchical normal linear models

open access: yesStatistical Theory and Related Fields, 2022
Bayesian Hierarchical models has been widely used in modern statistical application. To deal with the data having complex structures, we propose a generalized hierarchical normal linear (GHNL) model which accommodates arbitrarily many levels, usual ...

Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning–Based Optimal Control for Model-Free Linear Systems

open access: yesMathematics
A novel model-free hierarchical reinforcement learning (HRL)–based Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control framework with adaptive weight selection is proposed to address the reliance of conventional LQR methods on accurate system models and manual ...

Bayesian designs for hierarchical linear models [PDF]

open access: yesStatistica Sinica, 2009
Summary: Two Bayesian optimal design criteria for hierarchical linear models are discussed: the \(\psi_\beta\) criterion for the estimation of individual-level parameters \(\beta\), and the \(\psi_\theta\) criterion for the estimation of hyperparameters \(\mathbf \theta\).

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

User-friendly Bayesian regression modeling: A tutorial with rstanarm and shinystan [PDF]

open access: yesTutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology, 2018
This tutorial provides a pragmatic introduction to specifying, estimating and interpreting single-level and hierarchical linear regression models in the Bayesian framework. We start by summarizing why one should consider the Bayesian approach to the most
