Spark plasma sintering of layered γ-Al2O3/graphene reinforced nanocomposites; pp. 140–144 [PDF]
Multi-layered ceramic composites with alternation of grain sizes in layers were produced by adding thin interlayers of graphene-augmented alumina nanofibres (GAIN) between layers of monolithic α-Al2O3.

Hierarchical Segmentation of Complex Structures [PDF]
We present an unsupervised hierarchical segmentation algorithm for detection of complex heterogeneous image structures that are comprised of simpler homogeneous primitive objects. An initial segmentation step produces regions corresponding to primitive objects with uniform spectral content.

A highly efficient and durable solar evaporator based on hierarchical ion‐selective nanostructures
Solar‐driven vapor generation technology can directly produce clean water, but existing strategies remain challenging in achieving both high evaporation performance and good salt resistance due to complex water‐thermal management.

Formation of Nanostructure during Replication of a Hierarchical Plant Surface
Plant and animal surfaces have become a model for preparing special synthetic surfaces with low wettability, reflectivity, or antibacterial properties. Processes that lead to the creation of replicas of natural character use two-step imprinting methods ...

Hierarchical structure in the trace formula*
Abstract Guztwiller’s trace formula is central to the semiclassical theory of quantum energy levels and spectral statistics in classically chaotic systems. Motivated by recent developments in random matrix theory and number theory, we elucidate a hierarchical structure in the way periodic orbits contribute to the trace formula that has ...

Model-Checking Hierarchical Structures [PDF]
Hierarchical graph definitions allow a modular description of graphs using modules for the specification of repeated substructures. Beside this modularity, hierarchical graph definitions also allow to specify graphs of exponential size using polynomial size descriptions.
