High order harmonics anomaly of jet screech [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Imperfectly expanded supersonic jets under strong screech could generate both fundamental screech tones and multiple tones at the harmonics of the fundamental frequency. The paper compares the fundamental frequency of jets from both AR = 3 (Aspect Ratio)

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Wigner time-frequency distribution of high-order harmonics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We investigate the time-frequency characteristics of high-order harmonics generated in atomic gases by intense femtosecond laser pulses, using the Wigner distribution function.

Feasibility of high-frequency alternating current power for motor auxiliary loads in vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents a feasibility study into the application of a 100-V, 50-kHz high-frequency ac (HFAC) network for powering automotive electrical auxiliaries. The study is focused on motor-actuated loads and is divided into two sections.

Performance comparison of passive series R and shunt R-C damped LCL filter for grid-connected inverters

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
LCL filters are widely used in distributed power-generation systems to attenuate high-frequency harmonics caused by pulse-width modulation switching of grid-connected inverters. A resonance occurs due to the series-connected reactive components. In order

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Design and implementation of a X-band transmitter and frequency distribution unit for a synthetic aperture radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can provide high-resolution images of extensive areas of the earth's surface from a platform operating at long ranges, despite adverse weather conditions or darkness.

Chiral Microneedle Arrays With Terahertz Chiroptical Activity With Chiral‐Plasmon‐Chiral‐Phonon Resonance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microneedle arrays (MNAs) is a rapidly emerging technology with broad biomedical applications in drug delivery and biosensing. With sub‐millimeter dimensions and periodicity, MNAs possess geometries nearly ideal for biomedical devices operating within the terahertz (THz) spectral window.
