Analysis of Unidirectional Secondary Resonant Single Active Bridge DC–DC Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
A compact and highly efficient unidirectional DC–DC converter is required as a battery charger for electrical vehicles, which will rapidly become widespread in the near future.

Transformers in High-Frequency Trading

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract Transformer is a deep learning model that, having an innovative performance in many tasks, has uniquely and significantly modified all the cast of mind of the AI scientific community. In this paper, we introduce a Transformer model that is applied to 1-minute timescale in the EURUSD and GBPUSD instruments of forex trading.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Development and Evaluation of a High-Frequency Toroidal Transformer for Solid-State Transformer Applications

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
The performance and efficiency of high-frequency transformers (HFTs) are significantly influenced by leakage inductance. To improve the efficiency of HFTs, it is crucial to consider the effects of leakage inductance during the design and analysis ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
