High-order AO in the visible: The Durham High-Order Demonstrator

2011
The Durham High-order Demonstrator (DHD) is a proposed high-order/extreme adaptive optics instrument design for the 4.2m William Herschel Telescope on La Palma, Canary Islands. Our principal interest in this instrument is designing a flexible-testbed for which we can develop a high-order AO system which is suitable for diffraction-limited, visible ...

High order nonlinear solver

Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, 2009
An eighth order method for finding simple zeros of nonlinear functions is developed. The method requires two function- and three derivative-evaluation per step. If we define informational efficiency of a method as the order per function evaluation, we find that our method has informational efficiency of 1.6.

High-order timing attacks

Proceedings of the First Workshop on Cryptography and Security in Computing Systems, 2014
The timing attack (TA) is a side-channel analysis (SCA) variant that exploits information leakage through the computation duration. Previously, leakages in timing have been exploited by comparison analysis, most often thanks to "correlation - collision" or pre-characterization on a clone device.

A high order neural model

1993
The interaction between afferent nerves had always been regarded as a phenomenon which is produced outside the neuron. This work presents an extension of the classic concept of interaction between inputs, including the possibility of higher-order effects at the level of neuronal activity function.

High‐order sensitivity invariants

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2010
AbstractThe aim of the research reported in this paper is to extend the notion of invariant sensitivity sum, widely known for electrical networks, from first‐order sensitivities to high‐order sensitivities. The results are high‐order invariant sums of sensitivities of the first and the second kind, formulated for nonlinear lumped circuit, which ...

On the Logarithms of High-Order Spacings

Biometrika, 1976
SUMMARY Previous work on the use of gaps or spacings to test for uniformity of a sample has been in terms of distances between successive order statistics of the sample. This paper generalizes this notion of first-order gaps to mth-order gaps, and considers the sum of the logarithms of the mth-order gaps as a test statistic of uniformity.

Super High-Order Virasoro Gravity and High-Order Virasoro Topological Matter

Modern Physics Letters A, 1997
N=2 super high-order Virasoro algebra and topological high-order Virasoro algebra are constructed. We then present the super high-order Virasoro gravity and high-order Virasoro topological matter.
