High-order harmonic generation in alkanes

Physical Review A, 2006
We have investigated the process of high-order harmonic generation in light alkanes by using femtosecond laser pulses. We show the experimental results cannot be matched by a model that assumes a single active electron only in a hydrogenic s orbital.

High-order Harmonic-generation cutoff

Physical Review A, 1993
We have experimentally determined the harmonic-generation cutoff as a function of the laser intensity in neon using an intense, short-pulse Ti:sapphire laser. The experimental cutoff is lower than that obtained in single-atom calculations. Using a simple quantum-mechanical approach to harmonic generation valid at high intensity, we show that the ...

High-order harmonic generation in a crystalline solid

Physical Review B, 1992
The interaction between a laser field and a crystalline solid is considered. The electron wave function in the crystal is obtained from an appropriately chosen pseudopotential. The dipole approximation is introduced, and only vertical transitions are taken into account. We present a nonperturbative method based on the numerical computation of solutions

Dramatic Enhancement of High-Order Harmonic Generation

Physical Review Letters, 2007
We present a dramatic enhancement [Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 043002 (2003)] of high-order harmonic generation by simultaneous irradiation of booster harmonics. A key feature of our experiment is the use of mixed gases (Xe and He) with different ionization energies.

High-order harmonic generation in the tunneling regime

Physical Review A, 1995
We present systematic experimental studies of high-order harmonic generation in He and Ne that have been performed with an intense, femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at intensities in the tunneling regime, where special attention is concentrated on the strong-field effect.

Angularly-resolved High-order Harmonic Generation in Helium

Journal of Modern Optics, 1994
We report the observation of harmonics up to the 119th in helium, generated using a 1.053-\ensuremath{\mu}m, 1-ps chirped-pulse-amplification laser at intensities up to 3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{14}$ W/${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$, and the measurement of their far-field spatial distribution.

Principle of High-order Harmonic Generation

Physics and High Technology, 2023
High-order harmonic generation (HHG) is a highly nonlinear phenomenon that produces a numerous orders of harmonics. The generated harmonic orders can range from tens to several hundreds, depending on the ionization potential of the target medium and the intensity of the laser.
