Resilient Calvarial Bone Marrow Supports Retinal Repair in Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Skull bone (calvarium) marrow in diabetic mice stay structurally intact and keeps making blood cells, unlike the bone marrow of the leg bones. The skull marrow is exposed to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which contains protective molecules called oxysterols.

Creating Cell‐Based Hybrid Noodles for Sustainable and Nutrient‐Balanced Diets via a Serum‐Free and Animal‐Free 3D Co‐Differentiation System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a 3D co‐culture and co‐differentiation system for porcine muscle stem cells (pMuSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (pMSCs) on edible starch‐based scaffolds. The system simultaneously generates myotubes and adipocytes without using serum or chemical inducers.

High‐Performance Ambipolar Organic Electrochemical Transistors Based on Diketopyrrolopyrrole‐Dialkoxybithiazole Conjugated Polymers for Single‐component Inverters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two donor‐acceptor conjugated polymers, incorporating diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and dialkoxybithiazole (2Tz) units with ethylene glycol (EG) side chains, exhibit relatively balanced ambipolar organic electrochemical transistor (OECT) performance. This ambipolarity enables the realization of single‐component complementary inverters capable of ternary ...

Multimodal AI‐Driven Identification of Dehydrocostus Lactone as a Potent Renal Fibrosis Attenuator Targeting IQGAP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Renal fibrosis, a hallmark of CKD, lacks effective treatments. Herein, we developed a multimodal AI model (TCM‐SPred) to identify anti‐fibrotic agents and found that dehydrocostus lactone (DCL) targets IQGAP1 to inhibit Wnt signaling, blocking the interaction between IQGAP1 and CCT3, demonstrating potent anti‐fibrotic activity in vitro and in vivo ...

Genetic Control of Tissue Remodeling by a Non‐Coding SNP in ITGA8 Explains Carotenoid‐Based Color Polymorphism in Marine Mollusks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the orange‐muscle giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) is used as a model to identify a non‐coding SNP that disrupts the interaction between ITGA8 pre‐mRNA and the splicing factor ILF2, leading to altered ITGA8 splicing. These splicing changes promote carotenoid accumulation in abalone muscle through the regulation of tissue remodeling ...

Thin-layer chromatography and high-performance thin-layer chromatography of [3H]metabolites of 20-hydroxyecdysone

Insect Biochemistry, 1986
Abstract Normal-phase and reversed-phase thin-layer chromatographic systems for the separation and analysis of [ 3 H]metabolites of 20-hydroxyecdysone have been developed. These include separations involving multiple development (in one or more solvent systems), two dimensional techniques, reversed-phase and ion-pair chromatography.

High Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography

2013
The current chapter emphasizes the use of high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) as a green analytical separation alternative. The chapter provides historical development of thin-layer chromatography towards becoming modern, automated, high resolution technique in the form of high-performance thin-layer chromatography, and their further ...

High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography Instrumentation

2023
HPTLC is one type of planar chromatography and the most advanced form of instrumental TLC. HPTLC equipment involves an autosampler for the application of a specific amount of sample on the plate, after spotting of sample the plate is developed in a TLC development chamber after development the plate is dried and visualized using visualizer.
