Cluster Galaxies at High Redshift
1988Modern CCD instrumentation has made it possible to obtain photometric and spectroscopic data on normal galaxies in clusters at redshifts up to nearly unity. In this paper we discuss a survey for such clusters and preliminary spectroscopic results for galaxies in a sample of 7 clusters near redshift 0.5, and another at z=0.75.

What are protoclusters? – Defining high-redshift galaxy clusters and protoclusters [PDF]
We explore the structures of protoclusters and their relationship with high redshift clusters using the Millennium Simulation combined with a semi-analytic model. We find that protoclusters are very extended, with 90 per cent of their mass spread across $\sim35\,h^{-1}{\rm Mpc}$ comoving at $z=2$ ($\sim30\, \rm{arcmin}$).

The High Redshift 3CR Radio Galaxies: CD Galaxies in High Redshift Clusters
1998The old stellar populations of the 3CR radio galaxies at redshifts z ∼ 1 have been investigated using the HST and UKIRT. The radial intensity profiles of the galaxies are well matched out to radii τ ∼ 35kpc by de Vaucouleurs’ law with no requirement for an additional point source in all but two cases (3C22 and 3C41).

Evolution of Disk Galaxies in High-Redshift Clusters
1986We propose an evolutionary scenario for spiral galaxies in rich, compact clusters. Interactions with the environment, probably dominated by the processes in the hot gaseous intergalactic medium, remove the gas from the disks of blue objects infalling into cluster cores from outer layers. Predictions are made for UBV colors of cluster spirals versus the
