Terahertz Radar with High Resolution Range Profile

2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2021
In this paper, the performance of terahertz (THz) radar based on high resolution range profile (HRRP) is described. This terahertz radar, developed for the high resolution imaging under the complex environment such as sand-dust weather and so on, operates at 230GHz over multiple GHz of bandwidth.

The resolution of high resolution range profile for two ideal point targets

2012 IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology, 2012
The resolution is an important concept in radar. Based on the mathematic model of high resolution range profile (HRRP), this paper investigates the resolution of HRRP for two ideal point targets. Theoretical analyses indicate that two ideal point targets can always be resolved in HRRP once they are separated by a distance larger than 1.7∗c/(2B), where ...

High-resolution range profile reconstruction method for terahertz FMCW radar

Applied Optics, 2021
Terahertz (THz) testing, by the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) system, is often hampered by the limited range resolution. Thus, in this paper, a software method is proposed to reconstruct the range profile, yielding significant improvements in range resolution and in signal parameter extraction.

On variability in high resolution range profiles

2013 International Conference on Radar, 2013
Radar target classification often uses feature sets derived from high range resolution profiles as an input to a classifier. However, rage profiles typically exhibit variability that is subsequently passed on to the feature vectors used in classification.

A method of range measurement based on high resolution range profile

2017 11th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EUCAP), 2017
In conventional methods, the weighted mean range of the scattering centers on the high resolution range proflle(HRRP) is assumed as the range between the target center and radar. However, this assumption is not reasonable because the scattering center with the maximum amplitude may not locate at the center of the target.

The Range Alignment Algorithm for High-Resolution Range Profile Based on Image Segmentation

2016 International Conference on Identification, Information and Knowledge in the Internet of Things (IIKI), 2016
Aiming at the problem of the difficulty in the range alignment of HRRP because of more than one target in the window of radar image, this paper propose a alignment method for multiple targets in the target group by using an image segmentation method. First, we accumulate the HRRP of the target, and get the HRRP process diagram.

Polarization identification of high resolution range profiles

Proceedings of the IEEE 1995 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. NAECON 1995, 2002
In this paper, a novel effective polarization identification method is presented for vehicle sized ground target identification application. The method uses wide band FMCW orthogonal duel-polarization technology to obtain the degraded PSM of each scattering center in high resolution range profile.

RADAR TARGET RECOGNITION BASED ON PARAMETERIZED HIGH RESOLUTION RANGE PROFILES

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 2000
A new scheme of radar target recognition based on parameterized high resolution range profiles (PHRRP) is presented in this paper. A novel criterion called generalized-weighted-normalized correlation (GWNC) is proposed for measuring the similarity between PHRRP's.

Maritime ATR using Classifier Combination and High Resolution Range Profiles

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2011
A maritime automatic target recognition system is developed that performs ship classification using one-dimensional high resolution range profiles. Five physically based features are defined and are extracted from both VV and HH polarizations resulting in a 10-dimensional feature vector.
