Features for high resolution radar range profile based ship classification

ISSPA '99. Proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on Signal Processing and its Applications (IEEE Cat. No.99EX359), 2003
This study investigates a variety of features in the context of automated ship classification of high resolution radar range profile. The features used are length, scatterer count, centres of mass, quantised range profile and Fourier modified direct Mellin transform coefficients.

Performance analysis of radar high-resolution range profiling for stationary targets

2017 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2017
The high-resolution range (HRR) profile is an important performance indicator for modern radars. In this paper, we discuss the problems associated with radar HRR profiling of stationary targets, including the profiling ambiguity, stability, and accuracy.

Properties of high-resolution range profiles

Optical Engineering, 2002
Wideband radar can obtain much target information due to its high-range resolution. Because its size is smaller than the resolution of conventional radar, for an airplane, it can be regarded as a point. However, for wideband radar with a bandwidth of several hundred megahertz, the range resolution is less than a meter, and airplane echoes of one ...

High resolution range profile with promoted sparsity and refined grid

IET International Radar Conference 2013, 2013
A high resolution range profile (HRRP) method via compressed sensing (CS) with re-weighted 11 minimization is proposed. Since the weighted CS model has a better representation of the true sparse description than that of the general 11 norm based CS model, the proposed compressive HRRP exhibits a remarkable suppression of the noise influence when ...

Automatic target recognition using sequences of high resolution radar range-profiles

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2000
In this paper, we address the problem of joint tracking and recognition of a target using a sequence of high resolution radar (HRR) range-profiles. The likelihood function for the scene configuration combines a dynamics-based prior on the sequence of target orientations with a likelihood for range-profiles given the target orientation.

Advances in ISAR processing for high resolution cross-range profiling with passive radar

2012 13th International Radar Symposium, 2012
This paper presents advanced processing strategies for cross-range profiling of moving targets via ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) processing in WiFi-based passive radar. In particular, it is firstly shown that the disturbance removal stage of the WiFi-based passive radar processing scheme might have a degrading effect on the quality of the ...

Time-Domain Dictionary for Sparse Representation of Radar High Resolution Range Profile

2014 IEEE 17th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering, 2014
The Dictionary is the most important basis of sparse representation which is the key issue of sparse component analysis and compressed sensing. Most of the existing dictionaries are constructed in frequency domain. This paper presented a novel dictionary constructed in time domain for radar signal representation based on geometrical theory of ...

A Generative Approach for Incomplete High Resolution Range Profile Sequence Recognition

2019 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Electronics Technology (ICET), 2019
The High-Resolution Range Profile (HRRP) sequence recognition has attracted great concern in the field of Radar Automatic Target Recognition (RATR). In this paper, a novel HRRP sequence recognition method based on Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM) is proposed for the poor performance of the traditional methods on incomplete data and noise corrupted ...

High-resolution range profile

2005
In this chapter high-range resolution radar is presented. A high-resolution range profile (HRRP) is a one-dimensional signature of an object. It is a representation of the time domain response of the target to a high-range resolution radar pulse.
