High-speed imaging of impact processes
Paper 103281O, 16 S.Impact processes are highly transient processes requiring high time resolution for diagnostics techniques. Fraunhofer EMI performs impact and other highly dynamic experiments under laboratory conditions, allowing close-proximity ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Characteristics of a series of high speed hard chine planing hulls - part II: performance in waves
An experimental investigation into the performance of high speed hard chine planing hulls in irregular waves has been conducted. A new series of models representative of current design practice was developed and tested experimentally. Measurements of the

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

High Speed Marine Vehicles With Aerodynamic Surfaces: Development of a Dynamic Model for a Novel Configuration. [PDF]
A research programme on high speed marine vehicles fitted with aerodynamic surfaces started in Cranfield University in 2005. One of the configurations analyzed is a high speed prismatic planing hull with one or more aerodynamic surfaces; it is called ...
