Need for speed: High-speed rail and firm performance
Journal of Corporate Finance, 2020Exploiting the staggered expansion of China's passenger-dedicated high-speed rail (HSR) network, we study the relationship between HSR connection and firm performance. By highlighting the importance of firm location and face-to-face interactions, we test

The corrosion resistance of 431 stainless coatings produced by a novel surface modification technology (EHLA) was analyzed. As the cladding speed increased, the dendrites became more refined and the composition distribution was more uniform.

We present a new method for achieving high speed encryption and decryption using large-block cryptosystems. The method applies to both private and public key cryptosystems. The method amplifies the encrypting speed of any cryptosystem, and it is provably reducible to the latter.

High-Speed Multidimensional Convolution
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1980Fast computation algorithms are developed for twodimensional and general multidimensional convolutions. Two basic techniques (overlap-and-add, overlap-and-save) are described in detail. These techniques allow speed and storage requirement tradeoffs and they define a decomposition of the total convolution into partial convolutions that can be easily ...

The correlation function, $\phi_{ij}^{(\tau)} = \lim_{T \rightarrow \infty} {1 \over T} \int^{T}_{o} f_{i}(t)f_{j}(t-\tau) dt$ is of great interest today because of its use in the fields of oceanography and meteorology and because of its recent applications in the field of communication.

High-Speed Multiplication Systems
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1972Large-scale scientific computers are characterized by having a high ratio of computing requirements to the input-output requirements. Thus the speed of arithmetic operations should be of prime importance in this group of digital computers. In this note a mathematical formula is derived to determine the multiplication time obtained by each of the known ...

Parallel decimal arithmetic capability is becoming increasingly attractive with new applications of computers in a multi-programming environment. The direct production of decimal sums offers a significant improvement in addition over methods requiring decimal correction.

Measurement of High-Speed ADCs
2017 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC), 2017High-speed high-resolution ADCs are challenging in design and measurement. High accuracy on data and clock input have to be ensured. To minimize nonlinearity, it is important to avoid signal-dependent errors. With these goals in mind, we discuss design trade-offs that have to be considered for high-resolution ADCs. Furthermore, a full measurement setup
