Discrete pantograph position control for the high speed transportation systems

In this paper, a discrete fuzzy variable structure control is presented for the high-speed rail pantograph position control systems. This method carries insensitivity of the plant parameter variations and external disturbances. The fuzzy logic is applied for tuning effectively the control law. The control system stability is proved.

Interferometric fiber sensor for high-speed railway pantograph monitoring

2008
A new optical fiber sensor is proposed to monitor pantograph strain in high-speed railway. The sensor is based on a Michelson’s interferometer with a 3x3 coupler and employs standard 1550nm optical communications. The use optical fiber ensures excellent thermal and electrical insulation and allows non-invasive measures.
