From hydrogels to eutectogels: Emerging platforms for stretchable electronics

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
The transition of wearable electronics toward long‐term reliability requires materials that resist dehydration without sacrificing tissue‐like softness and ionic conductivity. Eutectogels fulfill these demands by immobilizing deep eutectic solvents within tailored polymer networks.

Farming in the shadows of Rome: A multi‐proxy palaeoenvironmental record from Loch Clunie—Perthshire

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Roman impacts on local society is a subject of international significance. Loch Clunie, Perthshire, lies only 5.4 km from Inchtuthil, the only Roman legionary fortress in Scotland, and contains two crannogs and a probable lakeside hillfort. Despite this proximity and the likelihood of local–Roman interaction, these sites remain unexcavated ...

Nutritional and sensory characteristics of local and hybrid East African Highland cooking bananas: Implications for breeding programs

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Bananas (Musa species) are an important staple food and cash crop in many parts of the world. The East African Highland cooking bananas form the backbone of food security for millions of Ugandans. The demand for high quality cooking bananas is thus closely linked to their sensory characteristics (which drive consumer preference) and

High Efficiency NIR Luminescence Beyond 900 nm Through Promoting Cr3+ Pair Generation in Sr3Zr2O7 Layered Perovskite

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A Cr3+/La3+ codoped Sr3Zr2O7 NIR phosphor showing luminescence at ∼960 nm with high IQE/EQE (92.4%/57.5%) and good thermal stability was developed. La3+ stabilizes Cr3+ and induces Cr3+ pairs, enabling efficient blue‐to‐NIR conversion for underwater wireless optical communication.

Microstructural and compositional analysis of debris in micro‐electrical discharge machining of Ni‐Ti shape memory alloy and stainless‐steel (SS304) Analyse der Mikrostruktur und Legierung von Abtragspartikeln beim Mikro‐Funkenerodieren von Ni‐Ti‐Formgedächtnislegierungen und Edelstahl (SS304)

open access: yesMaterialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, EarlyView.
This research provides an extensive and sophisticated analysis of debris produced by micro‐electrical discharge machining processing of Ni‐Ti shape memory alloys and austenitic stainless steel (SS304) using brass electrodes. The research examines how different discharge energy levels controlled by capacitance and voltage affect debris shape and ...
