Sustainable Composites Based on Recycled High-density Polyethylene/mica [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2021
Composites based on recycled high-density polyethylene (rHDPE) and muscovite mica, with different rHDE/mica ratios (100/0, 95/5, 90/10, 85/15 and 80/20, weight percentage) were prepared in an internal mixer with roller-type rotors at temperature of 170 ...

Porous polyethylene and proplast [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A comparative animal study showed that, after implantation in skull defects in guinea pigs, porous high-density polyethylene (PHDPE) was substantially better anchored in the bone than Proplast, and had greater stability of form and structure. In Proplast,

Reinforcing high-density polyethylene by phenolic spheres

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Phenolic spheres are synthesized through resorcinol and formaldehyde. The phenolic spheres were blended with HDPE to prepare binary composites. The rheological properties and mechanical properties of the composites were studied.

Life-Cycle Assessment of Recycling Postconsumer High-Density Polyethylene and Polyethylene Terephthalate

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
This study aims to quantify the overall environmental performances of mechanical recycling of the postconsumer high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in Jordan.

The influence of frequency of AC component on space charge behaviours in polyethylene under combined AC and DC electric fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Combined ac and dc voltages may occur in high voltage power transmission system, which bring challenges to the dielectric materials. Generally speaking, space charge is well recognised under high voltage dc conditions but has received little attention ...

Epitaxial crystallization of linear low-density polyethylene on high-density polyethylene [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science, 1997
The oriented crystallization of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) on high-density polyethylene (HDPE) has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. From morphology and electron diffraction, it is confirmed that epitactic growth of LLDPE lamellae on the HDPE crystals takes place with an adoption of the HDPE crystal thickness at the ...

Optimization of ultrasonically welded High density polyethylene with Medium density polyethylene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract Ultrasonic welding is a mechanical system whereby high-recurrence ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are privately connected to workpieces being held together compelled to make a strong state weld. It is usually utilized for plastics, and particularly for joining disparate materials.

High-density polyethylene crystals with double melting peaks induced by ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fibre [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
High-density polyethylene (HDPE)/ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre composites were prepared via solution crystallization to investigate the components of epitaxial crystal growth on a highly oriented substrate.

Cyclic Behavior of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
This article presents the mechanical behavior of high density polyethylene (HDPE). Samples were prepared by extracting extruded HDPE pipe. Cyclic and strain rate jump behavior of HDPE were studied under uniaxial tensile loading conditions. The strain jump tests indicated that mechanical behavior of HDPE has deformation memory.
