A Perceptual Framework for Contrast Processing of High Dynamic Range Images [PDF]
Image processing often involves an image transformation into a domain that is better correlated with visual perception, such as the wavelet domain, image pyramids, multi-scale contrast representations, contrast in retinex algorithms, and chroma ...

High dynamic range imaging [PDF]
Bachelor thesis deals with basic principles of increasing the dynamic range of digital photography. The work also looks for the methods that are used to create high dynamic range (HDR) photography, and examines methods for compressing HDR images for low ...

Linearized and High Frequency Electrooptic Modulators [PDF]
An analysis is performed of many standard and linearized electrooptic modulators known in the industry. The transfer functions of these modulators are evaluated under a consistent set of performance figures of merit, which are gain and spur-free dynamic

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Stereoscopic high dynamic range imaging [PDF]
Two modern technologies show promise to dramatically increase immersion in virtual environments. Stereoscopic imaging captures two images representing the views of both eyes and allows for better depth perception.

High dynamic range panorama images. [PDF]
(A) Five different panoramic high dynamic range photographs used as input datasets. Images have been normalized, gamma corrected and reduced to 8-bit dynamic range for reproduction. (B) Global root mean square (RMS/see Methods and Materials) contrast for

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Single Drive Multi-Axis Gyroscope with High Dynamic Range, High Linearity and Wide Bandwidth
This paper presents the design, fabrication, and characterization of a highly sensitive, single drive multi-axis gyroscope. The multi-axis gyroscope allows for a wide bandwidth in all three axes (X, Y, Z) and exhibits high linearity. The fabricated multi-
