Smart camera design for realtime High Dynamic Range imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceThis paper describes the HDR-ARtiSt hardware platform (High Dynamic Range Advanced Real-time imaging System), a FPGA-based architecture that can produce a real- time high dynamic range video from successive image ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

HCNet: Multi-Exposure High-Dynamic-Range Reconstruction Network for Coded Aperture Snapshot Spectral Imaging

open access: yesSensors
Coded Aperture Snapshot Spectral Imaging (CASSI) is a rapid hyperspectral imaging technique with broad application prospects. Due to limitations in three-dimensional compressed data acquisition modes and hardware constraints, the compressed measurements ...

Enhancing Low-Light High-Dynamic-Range Image from Industrial Cameras Using Dynamic Weighting and Pyramid Fusion [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to solve the problem of imaging quality of industrial cameras for low-light and large dynamic scenes in many fields, such as smart city and target recognition, this study focuses on overcoming two core challenges: first, the loss of image ...

Interferon beta drives therapy resistance in a patient‐derived model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Interferon type 1 (IFN‐1) production and signaling is associated with the acquisition of therapy resistance, following chronic DNA damage, via Interferon‐related DNA damage resistance signature (IRDS) gene expression. An alternative, DNA damage‐independent role of sustained IFN‐1 mediated resistance was identified and characterized by the emergence of ...

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Asynchronous temporal mapping for high-dynamic-range video and hardware-level privacy with event cameras

open access: yesCommunications Engineering
Conventional imaging systems struggle to simultaneously achieve high-dynamic-range imaging under extreme illumination and ensure that visual data remain confidential from the moment of acquisition.
