Lorentz violation at high energy: Concepts, phenomena, and astrophysical constraints [PDF]
We consider here the possibility of quantum gravity induced violation of Lorentz symmetry (LV). Even if suppressed by the inverse Planck mass such LV can be tested by current experiments and astrophysical observations. We review the effective field theory approach to describing LV, the issue of naturalness, and many phenomena characteristic of LV.

Proton Acceleration with Relativistic Electromagnetic Shock [PDF]
Understanding the mechanisms behind the extreme energies of cosmic rays is crucial for unraveling fundamental physical processes in astrophysical environments. This study proposes a novel mechanism for accelerating cosmic‐ray protons. By examining a high‐

GrailQuest: hunting for atoms of space and time hidden in the wrinkle of Space-Time [PDF]
AbstractGrailQuest(Gamma Ray Astronomy International Laboratory for QUantum Exploration of Space-Time) is a mission concept based on a constellation (hundreds/thousands) of nano/micro/small-satellites in low (or near) Earth orbits. Each satellite hosts a non-collimated array of scintillator crystals coupled with Silicon Drift Detectors with broad ...

Acceleration of Relativistic Particles in Counterpropagating Circularly Polarized Alfvén Waves
Counterpropagating Alfvén waves are ubiquitously observed in many astrophysical environments, such as a star surface and a planetary foreshock. We discuss an efficient particle acceleration mechanism in two counterpropagating circularly polarized Alfvén ...

A Precessing Jet Scenario for the Multi-Wavelength Long-Term Modulation of LS I +61°303
The high-mass X-ray binary LS I +61°303 is detected across the electromagnetic spectrum from radio until the very high energy γ-ray regime. The emission is not only highly variable on many time scales, but is also periodic at all observed wavelengths ...

Ultra-High-Energy Astroparticles as Probes for Lorentz Invariance Violation
Compelling evidence for Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) would demand a complete revision of modern physics. Therefore, searching for a signal or extending the validity of the invariance is fundamental for building our understanding of the extreme ...

Searching for Short-Timescale Transients in Gamma-ray Telescope Data
Astrophysical sources show variability in their emissions over a range of timescales, with transients such as fast radio bursts (FRBs) and magnetar giant flares (MGFs) showing variability on timescales as short as a few milliseconds.
