Determining of the electric field strength using high frequency broadband measurements [PDF]

open access: yesTehnika, 2017
Exposure of humans to electromagnetic fields of high frequency (above 100 kHz), i.e. radiofrequency radiation from the modern wireless systems, today inevitable is. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of broadband measurements of the

Neuromorphic Devices for Extreme Environments: State‐Variable Reliability and Stabilization Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic devices for extreme environments are interpreted through the physical states that store and process information. Radiation, temperature extremes, and vacuum can perturb vacancies, filaments, trapped charges, polarization, interfaces, and readout signals.

Environmental and occupational DC and low frequency electromagnetic fields

open access: yes, 2018
Quite high exposure can occur in some of occupations as well as during some personal activities, for instance, in trains, where the extremely low-frequency (ELF) magnetic field can reach rather high levels. This chapter presents an overview of the fields

Critical Coupling in Semi‐Trasparent Fano Resonators for Photothermal Converters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrathin metal–insulator multilayer architecture is engineered to exploit Fano‐resonant critical coupling, completely suppressing optical reflectance while achieving a balanced 50:50 trade‐off between absorbance and transmittance. Upon laser excitation at resonance, the metamaterial generates intense localized heat (ΔT≈550∘C$\Delta T {\approx }550^\

Tunable terahertz metasurface based on a modified Jerusalem cross for thin dielectric film evaluation

open access: yesOpen Engineering
This article introduces a new terahertz metasurface based on a modified Jerusalem cross. The geometry of the basic structural element is modified, depending on its position in the matrix.

Proximity‐Tuned Magnetic and Transport Anomalies in All‐Epitaxial Fe5−xGeTe2/WSe2 Van der Waals Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐epitaxial and scalable ferromagnetic/non‐magnetic Fe5−xGeTe2/WSe2 van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures exhibiting room‐temperature magnetism and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) are realized. The system displays proximity‐tuned magnetic anisotropy, thickness‐dependent unconventional Hall effects, and temperature‐dependent sign reversal of ...

Molecular Bridges for 2D Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular cross‐linking provides a versatile strategy to engineer interfaces in 2D materials. By tuning the linker backbone, binding mode, and interflake spacing, molecular bridges can regulate charge transport, mechanical integrity, chemical functionality, and processing.

A Nonlinear Organic Low‐Frequency Sound Sensor Based on Electrochemical Coupling in a Solidified Gel Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel nonlinear infrasound sensor concept based on a free‐standing ion conductive gel membrane is introduced. Acoustic signals are directly transduced into an electrical signal using an internal application mechanisms (gating). The nonlinearity might be used for neuromorphic in‐sensor computing. ABSTRACT Measuring low‐frequency or infrasound acoustic

Comparison of high- and low-frequency electromagnetic field analysis

open access: yesJournal de Physique III, 1993
Research in the area of electromagnetic field computation has evolved within two distinct groups which are distinguished by their areas of applications. High frequency field computation has developed mostly out of the need to analyze antennas and scatterers in open space and also microwave devices.

Scalable Fabrication of Thermally Reconfigurable Ge Metasurfaces Using Stencil Lithography for Mid‐Infrared Molecular Fingerprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Scalable stencil lithography enables resist‐free fabrication of high‐index Ge metasurfaces for mid‐infrared molecular fingerprinting. Reversible thermo‐optic tuning provides post‐fabrication spectral control for precise resonance–vibration mode alignment, enabling enhanced molecular fingerprinting of microplastic particles.
