Tolerances for combining high gain antennas

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
Coherently combining high gain antennas to obtain increased gain is sometimes proposed. Coherent combining produces grating lobes in the overall antenna pattern limiting combining efficiency in the signal direction. Requirements for narrow bandwidth phase matching and wider bandwidth time delay matching are presented. >

High-gain antenna with asymmetric flares

2015 International Conference on Radar, Antenna, Microwave, Electronics and Telecommunications (ICRAMET), 2015
This work investigates the application of flares as a low-cost alternative for controlling the vertical beamwidth of a patch array antenna for S-band maritime radar applications. The use of flares reduces the number of array vertical elements needed to obtain the specified vertical beamwidth of the antenna and thus reducing the antenna cost.

High Gain Antenna for WhiteSpace Application

2016 International Conference on Micro-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ICMETE), 2016
The objective of paper is to design an antenna which is competent to use the white space frequency range. This particular design is based on fractal blade shape antenna. Yagi uda antenna concept is used in fractal. Antenna is analyzed in the frequency range of 400-700 MHz.

High Gain Modular Microstrip Antennas

16th European Microwave Conference, 1986, 1986
This work extends a modular approach for the design of microstrip arrays to high gain (35 dB) printed antennas. A theoretical study of the gain limitation in single-layer microstrip antennas is compared to experimental results in a set of 16,64,256 and 1024 element arrays.

Coherently combining high gain antennas

MILCOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2008
Coherently combining large, high gain antennas is one means to achieve the performance of a much larger antenna. The requirements for coherent combining are reviewed and a novel means of implementing the coherent combining is described.

A compact high gain antenna for small-satellites

2004
The development of a circularly-polarized compact high-gain antenna to be used for the European Student Earth Orbiter small satellite mission is described. The antenna is realized stacking two coaxial shorted annular patches and placing the top one at half a wavelength from the lower one. At variance of other similar configurations proposed in the past,

High gain pseudo-Doppler antenna

2010 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2010
Research into location finding using Direction Finding (DF) techniques has been biased in recent times towards variants of classic techniques such as MUSIC and ESPRIT. These covariance matrix based techniques remain computationally intensive and require precisely characterised antennas.
