Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Structural Characteristics of Fibrillar Crystals in Uniaxially Stretched Isotactic Polypropylene Dominated by Temperature and Strain

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
The spherulitic morphology of isotactic polypropylene can be transformed into the oriented fibrillar morphology through hot stretching processes with varying temperature (Ts) or altering strain (εt).

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Research on the method of detecting low-/zero-value insulators using infrared spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
Insulators are the core components of high-voltage transmission lines, and the occurrence of low-/zero-value defects due to insulation degradation seriously endangers the safe and stable operation of power systems.

Ultrafast high power fiber laser systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
S.187-197Fiber laser systems offer unique properties for the amplification of ultrashort pulses to high powers. Two approaches are discussed, the amplification of linearly chirped parabolic pulses and a fiber based chirped pulse amplification system ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Design and Implementation of Security Audit and Monitoring System in Network Security Risk Perception of Power Monitoring System

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
This study tackles challenges in server O&M and network security by proposing an ALBERTbased knowledge graph framework. Traditional methods face low information correlation, incomplete entity extraction, and inefficient decision-making.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Relationship between power system inertia and inter-area mode natural frequency – Analysis and measurements [PDF]

open access: yes
Publisher Copyright: © 2024 The AuthorsDue to the introduction of wind and solar power into power systems, there has been a growing interest in power system inertia during previous years. Also, in several power systems, monitoring of both the frequencies
