Transportable high-energy high-power generator
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010High-power applications sometimes require a transportable, simple, and robust gigawatt pulsed power generator, and an analysis of various possible approaches shows that one based on a twin exploding wire array is extremely advantageous. A generator based on this technology and used with a high-energy capacitor bank has recently been developed at ...

High‐powered automobile stereos
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1993We measured the owner‐adjusted acoustic outputs of 10 automobile stereo systems, with power ratings ranging between 150 and 600 watts. The sound levels ranged from 107 to 138 dB SPL and 84 to 108 dBA. Most of the high‐Intensity sound was in the 31, 62, and 125 Hz center‐frequency octave bands.

High power asymmetrical thyristors
1985 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1985The power loss of fast speed thyristors is relatively high, especially for higher blocking voltage devices. High power asymmetrical thyristors will reduce the power loss up to 40%. In this paper we will discuss the newly developed high power asymmetrical thyristors and their trade-off.

High power ultrasound standard
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002A sensitive radiation force balance for laboratory measurement of ultrasonic power is presented. The principle of the system is based on measuring the ultrasonic radiation force exerted on a conical float suspended in water. Technical details of the implementation of the economically attractive system are described.
