High-Density Genotypes of Inbred Mouse Strains: Improved Power and Precision of Association Mapping. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Human genome-wide association studies have identified thousands of loci associated with disease phenotypes. Genome-wide association studies also have become feasible using rodent models and these have some important advantages over human studies ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A static current error elimination algorithm for predictive current control in PMSM for electric vehicles

open access: yesGreen Energy and Intelligent Transportation
Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), especially interior PMSM, offer several benefits, including a compact design, light weight, simple construction, high efficiency, and versatile control capabilities, which make them ideal for use in electric ...

Intermittent dislocation density fluctuations in crystal plasticity from a phase-field crystal model

open access: yes, 2014
Plastic deformation mediated by collective dislocation dynamics is investigated in the two-dimensional phase-field crystal model of sheared single crystals.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Submicron gate InP power MISFET's with improved output power density at 18 and 20 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes
The microwave characteristics are presented at 18 and 20 GHz of submicron gate indium phosphide (InP) metal-insulator-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MISFET's) for high output power density applications. InP power MISFET's were fabricated and the

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Extension and parameterization of high-order density dependence in Skyrme forces

open access: yes, 2016
The three-body force is indispensable in nuclear energy density functionals which leads to a density dependent two-body term in the Hartree-Fock approach. Usually a single factional power of density dependency has been adopted.
