High-precision geochronology is integral to testing hypotheses regarding the correlation, causes, and rates of events and processes in Earth history. Recent studies have sought to reconcile very precise, but apparently conflicting, ages for the same geological samples and events using different chronometers.

High Precision Scanning Ellipsometer
Applied Optics, 1975We describe the design, construction, alignment, and calibration of a photometric ellipsometer of the rotating-analyzer type. Data are obtained by digital sampling of the transmitted flux with an analog-to-digital converter, followed by Fourier transforming of the accumulated data with a dedicated minicomputer.

High-precision interconnect analysis
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1998Integrated circuits have evolved to a stage where interconnections significantly limit their performance and functional complexity. We introduce a set of tools to perform highly accurate three-dimensional capacitance and resistance/thermal calculations of interconnect structures.

Navigating the intranet with high precision
Proceedings of the 16th international conference on World Wide Web, 2007Despite the success of web search engines, search over large enterprise intranets still suffers from poor result quality. Earlier work [6] that compared intranets and the Internet from the view point of keyword search has pointed to several reasons why the search problem is quite different in these two domains.

High-Precision Laser Gravimeter
Applied Optics, 1974A ballistic gravimeter has been constructed using a laser interferometer to measure the vertical distance traversed by a free-falling body and a rubidium frequency standard to measure elapsed time. The error in distance and time measurement are estimated to be less than 2 x 10(-8) and 2 x 10(-11) respectively.

A high performance precision machine
IEEE Conference on Robotics, Automation and Mechatronics, 2004., 2005In the area of precision engineering industries, high performance positioning precision machines are increasingly employed to improve the productivity and to lower the manufacturing cost. In many applications such as actuaphotonics or biomedical products, there are increasingly demands for machines that have positioning accuracy of several micrometers.

A High-Precision Photoelectric Photometer
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1961During work on the primary standard of light a photometer has been developed which possesses desirable qualities. The detector used is a Gillod-Boutry vacuum photocell with cesium-bismuth cathode surface having a basic sensitivity of 25 μA/lu. The photocurrent is measured by a simple circuit, using balanced electrometer tubes, similar to circuits which

High precision traffic measurement
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2002Making passive measurements is a challenging process. A small number of research groups have overcome these difficulties and have made terabytes of captured network traffic available to the Internet community. We have discovered that even when initial hurdles to collecting traces have been overcome, there are potentially many methodological weaknesses ...

A high temperature precision amplifier
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1995A precision operational amplifier has been developed for instrumentation applications in which the circuitry must operate in ambient temperatures as high as 200/spl deg/C. At 200/spl deg/C the amplifier maintains an input offset voltage and current of less than 200 /spl mu/V and 1 nA respectively, a gain bandwidth product of 2.2 MHz, and a slew rate of
