Study on the Pressure Drop Variation and Prediction Model of Heavy Oil Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow

open access: yesGeofluids, 2021
To explore the pressure drop variation with the viscosity of heavy oil gas-liquid two-phase flow, experiments with different viscosity gas-liquid two-phase flows are carried out.

Experimental Investigation of High-Pressure Liquid Ammonia Injection under Non-Flash Boiling and Flash Boiling Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Liquid ammonia is an ideal zero-carbon fuel for internal combustion engines. High-pressure injection is a key technology in organizing ammonia combustion. Characteristics of high-pressure liquid ammonia injection is lack of research.

Ultrasonic cleaning reduces the residual monomer in acrylic resins

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2016
Background/purpose: The residual monomer remaining in acrylic resin can cause an allergic reaction and is toxic to oral soft tissue. This study determined the effect of the duration of ultrasonic cleaning on the amount of residual methyl methacrylate ...

Glass–liquid transition of water at high pressure [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2011
The knowledge of the existence of liquid water under extreme conditions and its concomitant properties are important in many fields of science. Glassy water has previously been prepared by hyperquenching micron-sized droplets of liquid water and vapor deposition on a cold substrate (ASW), and its transformation to an ultraviscous ...

Hydroxymethylfurfural Content and Sugar Profile of Honey Available in Bangladesh Using Validated HPLC-PDA and HPLC-RID

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality and Hazards Control, 2022
Background: Honey has a lot of reputation because of its supposed medicinal properties. In this study, Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), sugars, and Fructose/Glucose ratio of honey in Bangladesh were assessed for adulteration and authenticity evaluation ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Treatment with new organic nitrites in pulmonary hypertension of acute experimental pulmonary embolism

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2019
Acute pulmonary embolism may cause right heart failure due to increased pulmonary vascular resistance and arterial hypoxemia. Effective vasodilator therapy of the pulmonary hypertension is highly needed.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
