Analog Tensor Processing With Carbon Nanotube In‐Memory Matrix Multiplications for Edge Computer Vision Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work prototypes a carbon nanotube‐based analog tensor core that performs in‐memory, parallel visual processing. Integrating non‐volatile memories and compact circuits, the core enables high‐speed analog matrix multiplications and can demonstrate accurate three dimensional (3D) spatial transformation and edge detection. With lightweight design, the

Analysis of Distillate Fractions Collected from a Small Commercial Pot Still Using NMR and GC-MS

open access: yesSeparations
In an effort to evaluate the performance of a 5-gallon pot still in separating yeast-derived congeners during the distillation of a grain-based distiller’s beer, the distillates of a fermented mash of cracked corn, malted barley, and wheat were ...

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

The Evolution of Brain and Body Size in Genus Homo

open access: yesHumans
Humans, and most other late Homo species, are characterized by large brains and bodies. However, the discovery of two small-brained Homo species—H. floresiensis and Homo naledi—has cast doubts on large brain size as a defining feature of our genus.

The Use of Antibiotics in Broodmares With Post-service Endometritis

open access: yesVeterinary Evidence, 2018
There is currently a lack of evidence to suggest that antibiotics delivered into the uterus post-service improves pregnancy rates. The evidence does support that post-service treatment with or without antibiotics improves pregnancy rates in mares with ...

Assessing Blockchain Consensus and Security Mechanisms against the 51% Attack

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The 51% attack is a technique which intends to fork a blockchain in order to conduct double-spending. Adversaries controlling more than half of the total hashing power of a network can perform this attack.

Performance of Imidazoquinoline Glycoconjugate BAIT628 as a TLR7 Agonist Prodrug for Prostate Cancer

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Despite broad anti-cancer efficacy as Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) 7/8 agonists, imidazoquinolines remain limited in use via systemic administration or in situ vaccination therapies due to inflammatory toxicity.
