Operator manual: high temperature heat pump [PDF]
Experimental data is being obtained from operating a high temperature heat pump system. The use of methanol as a working fluid will necessitate careful monitoring of refrigerant temperatures and pressures with chemical analysis performed on the working fluid during scheduled down time.

Improved district heating network operation by the integration of high-temperature heat pumps [PDF]
Biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plants connected to district heating networks are a very good opportunity to increase the share of renewable sources into energy systems. Frequently, important consumers are connected to ensure a stable base heat demand throughout the year but they often have higher requirements in terms of temperature (i.e. steam),

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Modelling Load Profiles of Heat Pumps
Approximately one quarter of energy-related emissions in Germany are caused by the domestic sector. At 81%, the largest share of these emissions is due to heat supply. Many measures are available to reduce these emissions. One of these measures, which is

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Efficient Operation of Heat Source using High-temperature Chilled Water in an Advanced Office Building [PDF]
In recent years, energy conservation has become a major focus in the industrial sector. Many office buildings in Japan achieve energy savings by introducing highly efficient equipment and systems, such as high-temperature cooling water (14 °C), which ...

Heat pumps in existing heating and hot water systems: an evaluation of primary energy savings and reduction of CO2 produced [PDF]
In a previous work we recorded a significant contribution to urban air pollution attributable to heating systems powered by fuel. Thus, we propose the replacement of existing boilers for heating and domestic hot water (DHW) production systems with high ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
