High time resolution PFISR and optical observations of naturally enhanced ion acoustic lines [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2009
Observations of naturally enhanced ion acoustic lines (NEIALs) taken with the Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar (PFISR) using a mode with very high time resolution are presented.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

High temporal and spatial resolution distributed fiber Bragg grating sensors using time-stretch frequency-domain reflectometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A novel interrogation technique for fully distributed linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG) strain sensors with simultaneous high temporal and spatial resolution based on optical time-stretch frequency-domain reflectometry (OTS-FDR) is proposed ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Real-time Pulse Search and Positioning Method for Baseband Data Based on Matched Filtering

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are the most intense radio explosions known, yet their origins remain a significant astrophysical mystery. High-time-resolution pulse searching has opened new avenues for studying narrow and faint pulses, promising substantial ...

Radar high resolution range profile target recognition based on time series forest [PDF]

open access: yesZhihui kongzhi yu fangzhen
In order to improve the recognition accuracy of radar targets and the recognition performance under incomplete angular domain data, a high resolution range profile (HRRP) recognition algorithm based on time series forest is proposed.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Revolutionizing endoscopy: Non-invasive high-resolution imaging with time-domain optical coherence tomography

open access: yes
Time-domain optical coherence tomography (TD-OCT) is an advanced imaging technique that utilizes low-coherence interferometry to capture high-resolution, cross-sectional images of biological tissue. Conventional techniques used for endoscopy are invasive

Effects of NMR spectral resolution on protein structure calculation

open access: yes, 2013
Adequate digital resolution and signal sensitivity are two critical factors for protein structure determinations by solution NMR spectroscopy. The prime objective for obtaining high digital resolution is to resolve peak overlap, especially in NOESY ...

A global coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian model and 1 × 1 km CO2 surface flux dataset for high-resolution atmospheric CO2 transport simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We designed a method to simulate atmospheric CO2 concentrations at several continuous observation sites around the globe using surface fluxes at a very high spatial resolution.
