The 150-kv. system operated for some years by the Southern California Edison Company has not made use of automatic operation of circuit breakers. The multiplication of generating stations and connections which accompanied the change to 220-kv. makes desirable the automatic sectionalizing of the line in cases of trouble and, therefore, requires circuit ...

High-Voltage, High-Frequency Transformer Design
2012Conversion of AC mains voltages to a high-voltage (>10 kV), high-power (>10 kW) DC level is a key area of technology which is a requirement in many industrial processes, for example, in particulate emission control using electrostatic precipitators. In the majority of cases, this high-voltage DC requirement is achieved with a singlephase AC regulator ...

Shielding of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1976This paper provides an application procedure and graphs for the design of the shielding of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations, where negative shielding angle configurations are usually encountered. It covers the shielding by both ground wires and masts. The method employed is an extension of Gilman-Whitehead electrogeometric model.

Voltage gradients on high-voltage lines
Electrical Engineering, 1955AKNOWLEDGE of the voltage gradient which exists at the surface of a transmission-line conductor is necessary in many instances. This knowledge is especially important in studies regarding corona losses and radio interference.
