Cotton Fiber Micronaire and Relations to Fiber HVI and AFIS Qualities Between Deltapine® and PhytoGen Upland Varieties

open access: yesFibers
Cotton micronaire (MIC) is an essential fiber quality index that characterizes both fiber maturity and fineness components. This study compared how MIC affects the fiber high volume instrument (HVI) and advanced fiber information system (AFIS) qualities ...

Digieye Application In Cotton Colour Measurement

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal, 2015
Colour is one of the most important properties of cotton raw materials. It helps in determining and classifying the quality of fibres according to the Universal Cotton Standards. Organoleptic and instrumental techniques are applied to assess the color of

Comparative Upland Cotton Fiber Length Measurement and the Relation to Fiber Maturity

open access: yesTextiles
Cotton fiber length and maturity, two critical fiber qualities, are commonly determined in the U.S. by Uster high volume instrument (HVI) and advanced fiber information system (AFIS).

Multi‐Objective Bayesian Co‐Optimization of Parameterized Moving Horizon Estimation and Model Predictive Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a Machine Learning (ML)‐enabled estimator‐controller design framework, in which a parameterized Model Predictive Controller (MPC) and a parameterized Moving Horizon Estimator (MHE) are jointly refined using Bayesian Optimization (BO).

Upgradation of Waste Dyed Fiber Through Production of Upcycled Rotor‐Spun Yarn: Enhancing Sustainability in Textiles

open access: yesCleanMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 99-110, June 2026.
This research is about development of upcycled yarn from textile waste. The results demonstrate that RDFW can be successfully incorporated into yarn production, maintaining comparable tensile strength and uniformity, while reducing waste and resource consumption also save up to 22,000 L of water and 1.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram of cotton.

Genetic dissection of plant architecture, development, and seed morphology in exotic × elite Upland cotton populations

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) breeding has primarily emphasized fiber yield and quality, yet plant architectural, developmental, and seed morphological traits also play key roles in productivity and management. Here, we dissect the genetic basis of four such traits: plant height (HT), number of nodes with one branch (N1B), days to flowering ...
