Development of the correction procedure for High Volume Instrument elongation measurement. [PDF]
Cotton spinning mills need high-quality fibers to maintain their manufacturing efficiency. Machinery throughput is increasing and it could translate into more processes with higher breaking stress. Consequently, more fibers are susceptible to breaking or

Comparative Upland Cotton Fiber Length Measurement and the Relation to Fiber Maturity
Cotton fiber length and maturity, two critical fiber qualities, are commonly determined in the U.S. by Uster high volume instrument (HVI) and advanced fiber information system (AFIS).

Comparison of high-volume instrument and advanced fiber information systems based on prediction performance of yarn properties using a radial basis function neural network [PDF]
In this study, an artificial neural network (ANN) model is presented in order to predict the tenacity and hairiness of carded cotton yarns. Fiber measurement values generated by using a high-volume instrument (HVI) and an advanced fiber information ...

Studies on fibre quality of a long staple cotton variety using high volume instrument and advanced fibre information system for fibre quality improvement [PDF]
Fibre quality parameters of 20 plants of a long staple cotton variety Suraj were analyzed using High Volume Instrument (HVI) and Advanced Fibre Information System (AFIS) and were compared.

A scalable densification strategy is proposed by incorporating sucrose into a fluoropolymer matrix to build a robust hydrogen‐bond crosslinking network. The intermolecular interactions effectively facilitate polar phase transformation and reduce free volume fraction.

This research is about development of upcycled yarn from textile waste. The results demonstrate that RDFW can be successfully incorporated into yarn production, maintaining comparable tensile strength and uniformity, while reducing waste and resource consumption also save up to 22,000 L of water and 1.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram of cotton.

Limits of measuring short fiber content by high volume instrument [PDF]
Many attempts are currently ongoing to measure or estimate the short fiber content in raw cotton by High Volume Instrument (HVI). Up to now, a fiber is considered "short" if its length is lower than 12,7 mm, even if it is not proven that this is the most

Abstract Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) breeding has primarily emphasized fiber yield and quality, yet plant architectural, developmental, and seed morphological traits also play key roles in productivity and management. Here, we dissect the genetic basis of four such traits: plant height (HT), number of nodes with one branch (N1B), days to flowering ...
