Species Scale and Primordial Gravitational Waves
Abstract The species scale is a field‐dependent UV cut‐off for any effective field theory weakly coupled to gravity. In this letter, it is shown that in the context of inflationary cosmology, a detection of primordial gravitational waves will set an upper bound on the decay rate |Λs′/Λs|$|\Lambda ^{\prime }_s/\Lambda _s|$ of the species scale ...

Abstract The diffeomorphism class of simply connected smooth Calabi‐Yau threefolds with torsion‐free cohomology is determined via certain basic topological invariants: the Hodge numbers, the triple intersection form, and the second Chern class.

Higher Derivative Corrections to Non-supersymmetric Extremal Black Holes in N=2 Supergravity [PDF]
Using the entropy function formalism we compute the entropy of extremal supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric black holes in N=2 supergravity theories in four dimensions with higher derivative corrections. For supersymmetric black holes our results agree

Exploring T‐Duality for Self‐Dual Fields
Abstract Avatars of T‐duality within Sen's formalism for self‐dual field strengths in various dimensions are studied. This formalism is shown to naturally accommodate the T‐duality relation between Type IIA/IIB theories when compactified on a circle without the need for imposing the self‐duality constraint by hand, as is usually done. The study of this

Different ways of representing the group SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ within a Geometric Algebra approach are explored. As part of this, we consider characteristic multivectors for SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ and how these are linked with decomposition of generators into commuting bivectors. The setting for this work is within a 6d Euclidean Clifford Algebra.

Octonionic Magical Supergravity, Niemeier Lattices, and Exceptional & Hilbert Modular Forms
Abstract The quantum degeneracies of Bogomolny‐Prasad‐Sommerfield (BPS) black holes of octonionic magical supergravity in five dimensions are studied. Quantum degeneracy is defined purely number theoretically as the number of distinct states in charge space with a given set of invariant labels.

Gyrating Schrodinger Geometries and Non-Relativistic Field Theories [PDF]
We propose homogeneous metrics of Petrov type III that describe gyrating Schrodinger geometries as duals to some non-relativistic field theories, in which the Schrodinger symmetry is broken further so that the phase space has a linear dependence of the ...

Hidden symmetries from extra dimensions
In Kaluza-Klein compactifications, some symmetries of the higher dimensional theory are preserved in lower dimensions, others are broken, and occasionally, there are symmetry enhancements.
